- Mike Balime holds a Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B Hons) from Makerere University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
- Mike is the Head of the Banking and Finance Department at the Firm. He has actively advised clients on asset-based finance by employing specialized methods of providing or accessing working capital and term loans that use accounts receivable, inventory, machinery and equipment.
- He has advised on operational and corporate matters to several regional banks like Ecobank, Exim Bank, Housing Finance Bank and has acted as Company Secretary to various Companies.
- Mike has also negotiated and reviewed various bank guarantees by facility (GBB) with banks on behalf of clients. Also drafting and reviewing of insurance bonds on behalf of commercial entities.
- He has also prepared all documents required to file cases, including briefs and other court documents, attending court and working closely with team members to prepare a comprehensive brief on each case that goes to trial for notable clients like MTN, Exim Bank, Ecobank.
- Mike has also drafted and reviewed project finance documents for long-term infrastructural projects for instance to the East African Crude Oil Pipeline project in Uganda where the debt and equity to finance the project was to be paid back from the cash flow for notable clients Teclab Limited.
- Advising on the transferability of various licenses in infrastructural energy projects.
- Regulatory reform consulting on Company law, Land Law and Finance and Banking laws.
