  • Hilda Nakandi Lubega is a Chartered Governance Professional from the Chartered Governance Institute of UK and Ireland (formerly known as ICSA). She holds a Bachelors in law degree from Makerere University (Uganda) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
  • Hilda is the Managing Partner of the firm. She has previously worked as Associate Partner at V. Agaba Advocates and Legal Consultants. She was the recipient of the 2022 Rising Star of the year award from the Uganda Law Society.
  • Her primary areas of practice include Corporate & Commercial law, Governance law, Non-Governmental Organisations and Consular services, Banking & Finance, Real Estate Transactions, Family law and Immigration law.
  • Hilda’s experience includes advising and facilitating the resolution of a UGX 1 billion estate matter through out of court negotiations, leading negotiations and drafting of intricate commercial contracts for a diverse range of clients, optimizing their business relationships and minimizing legal risks.
  • Second-chair in an employment matter where former employees were claiming unlawful termination of their employment contracts against Uganda Tourism Board for recovery of approx. UGX 3 Billion.
  • She has also acted as Company Secretary for a number of entities like Red Oak Group Limited, Reeta Enterprises, Kasalina Gardens, Simba Telecom, Karibu Guest House, Experience Uganda Limited contributing to operational efficiency and legal soundness.
  • Hilda has provided resourceful legal representation to a    roster of clients, including MTN Uganda, Uganda Breweries, Exim Bank, Housing Finance, EcoBank, Red Oak Group, and I&M She has been part of litigation teams handling high-value cases by contributing her expertise in cases worth over USD 1 million.
  • Advised on the regulatory compliance requirements of an international non-governmental organisation and assisted the NGO in regularizing its operations in Uganda.
  • Hilda is also regularly involved in handling of adoption and custody matters successfully hence ensuring legal compliance and the best interests of the parties involved.
  • Processing immigration facilities including work permits, special and dependent passes. She has also advised on registration of Non Governmental Organisations like the Makula Fund for Children, Shine Alight and several other individual clients and corporate entities on an ongoing basis.
  • Acted as Local Counsel for Bridge Tobacco Group Limited and KT&G with regard to due diligence and compliance checks under Cameroon and South Korea Law, in the Ugandan Local Law context.

Hilda has served on several local and private international boards as Company Secretary.

Hilda successfully completed a ten-week ICSA Mentorship Program and was awarded a Certificate of completion.
